Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom: How To Increase Health & Stamina

Like Breath of the Wild, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom also features the same heart and stamina mechanics many players are familiar with. Hearts control health, while stamina is needed to climb, glide, and more. Since they will heavily impact your gameplay, increasing these two things should be a top priority during your playthrough. After all, one extra heart could be the difference between life and death! If you want to know how to get more health and stamina for Link, this guide can answer this pressing question for you.

Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Health & Stamina Guide

Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Praying to Goddess Statue

You can obtain more heart and stamina by praying to the goddess statues scattered throughout Hyrule. They are usually found in major settlements like Rito Village and Lookout Landing. When you interact with a statue, a light will shine from heaven, and you can ask for either a heart or stamina container by spending four Lights of Blessing. The maximum number of Stamina Wheels you can have is three and the maximum number of hearts you can have is 30. Make sure to alternate between increasing hearts and stamina every so often, as both are necessary for your journey!

The only way to obtain a Light of Blessing is by completing one of the numerous shrines hidden in various locations. Luckily, you can usually find these mysterious buildings by looking out for blue and green light swirls in the sky.

The best way to discover new shrines is by launching yourself from a Skyview Tower and using the camera to mark the spots. Do note that the shrines are not just located on the surface – you can also find a handful of them on the floating islands!

Besides praying to the goddess statues, you can also gain one extra heart each time you beat a major boss in Tears of the Kingdom. Sadly, this bonus only applies to the final bosses in the temples, and you won’t get any heart containers whenever you defeat mini-bosses.

That is the end of our guide on how to increase Link’s health and stamina in Tears of the Kingdom. Before leaving to continue exploring Hyrule, consider reading other Zelda articles on GameLuster.
