Everything New In Super Mario Party Jamboree Nintendo Switch 2 Edition

The Super Mario Party Jamboree Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is here, releasing on July 24. A lot of attention has been given to the other big names of the Switch 2 launch such as Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza, so we wanted to give Jamboree some love with this hopefully helpful article.

From new minigames to new ways to play, let’s break down everything new you can expect to see in Super Mario Party Jamboree Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, along with the included Jamboree TV content.

New Rules For Mario Party Mode

While playing the base game, owners of the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Super Mario Party Jamboree will be able to enjoy two new rulesets to play in the base Mario Party mode, with both mixing up the traditional gameplay formula.

The first is Tag-Team Rules, in which you’ll pair up with another player and compete as a duo against another pair of players. This 2v2 mode gives you a friend in the all-out chaos of Mario Party, and will be a fun way to play for couples or those who want to test their bonds in their friendships. The second additional mode is Frenzy Rules, a rapid-fire mode where there are only 5 turns to win and each player starts with a Star, Double Dice and 50 Coins from the very beginning

New Jamboree TV Modes

The expansion pack Jamboree TV that’s included with Super Mario Party Jamboree‘s Switch 2 Edition contains two new game modes, that both take place away from the core main game experience. Both of the modes highlight technology exclusive to the Switch 2.

The first of these is Carnival Coaster, a team-based gauntlet style of game in which you and the other players ride a rollercoaster together, and use Joy-Con 2 mouse controls to shoot enemies and earn time to make the ride last longer. In between the arcade-style shooting are a bunch of new minigames which all use mouse controls, making this mode entirely mouse control-focused.

Make your voice heard with Bowser Live, which uses Switch 2 camera and microphone features.

Additionally, there’s the Bowser Live mode, which plays out like a TV competition show – and requires the Nintendo Switch 2 camera. Bowser wants you and your friends to put on a show, so you have to play in teams of two and play new minigames entirely focused on the Switch 2’s microphone and camera.

New Ways To Play

Mario Party gets more personal with camera reactions on Switch 2.

Alongside the integration of the camera into the Bowser Live mode, the Switch 2 camera can also be used in the main Super Mario Party Jamboree game modes. This allows you and your friends to see each other’s reactions in real time to your dastardly dice rolls, star stealing and all the other usual Mario Party hijinks.

Finally, there’s the option to use Switch 2’s GameShare, where friends without the game can play using your copy of the game on their own consoles either locally or online via GameChat. This mode is limited to Party Rules and 30 select minigames, but it’s a fun way to play with friends in a pinch and get them introduced to Super Mario Party Jamboree.

That’s everything new in Super Mario Party Jamboree Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV, available right now on Switch 2. We hoped we could help you out in making a decision whether you’re going to make the purchase for the upgrade or full game release.
