We’re getting closer to our first global hands-on event for Battlefield 6, as the Open Beta is scheduled to start this weekend – or later this week for those of us who got Twitch Drop early access. To help us jump into the explosive fun faster, the Battlefield 6 Open Beta is now publicly available to download worldwide across all available platforms. Specifically, you can pre-load the game right now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store or the EA app. No purchase or pre-order is required.
To download the Open Beta, just search Battlefield 6 on the digital storefront of your preferred gaming platform, and you should find it quickly. On Steam for example, you’ll need to click “Request Access” on the Open Beta section of the store page, but it will be automatically granted immediately on request. Pre-loading the game will download the full Battlefield 6 Open Beta contents in a roughly 30-40GB file depending on platform, which is quite a reasonable file size given the enormous 100GB+ we usually require to play shooters.

In case you missed the news, the Battlefield 6 Open Beta will have two publicly available play periods. The first Open Beta weekend runs from August 9 – 10, whilst the second follows on the weekend after of August 16 – 17. If you were lucky enough to get an early access code for the Battlefield 6 Open Beta, then you’ll be able to play from August 7 – 8 too, giving you a full four-day sample of the “ambitious” Battlefield 6 when combined with the first Open Beta weekend.
If you miss the Open Beta then don’t worry, as Battlefield 6 launches globally on October 10. Will you be pushing to try one of Battlefield 6 Open Beta weekends?
