Another Better Call Saul fan game has surfaced online – and it pits the show’s titular lawyer Saul Goodman against his brother Chuck McGill. Created by Youtuber Redshibe, the concept is a fighting game based on the AMC crime drama. The player can choose between several characters from the series, including the McGill brothers, Saul’s love interest and lawyer Kim Wexler, Howard Hamlin, Mike Ehrmantraut, Gus Fring, and Nacho Varga.
In the video seen below, the player selects Saul and Chuck to compete in a mode called Brawl. As the game loads, players are given a hint that despite Chuck’s advantage of speed and power against other fighters, his weakness against electricity will play against him.
This is a nod to Chuck’s electromagnetic hypersensitivity. The fight, set on a desert road – features Chuck in his space blanket as Saul emerges from his Suzuki Esteem. Saul defeats Chuck with the electricity from his phone – another nod to Chuck’s storyline in the series. The upload from Redshibe is not the first fan-made game to feature Bob Odenkirk’s crooked lawyer.
Earlier in the month, a fan game of Better Call Saul for the Game Boy was created. This recent wave of Better Call Saul-inspired fan games and mods, including a disturbing Spider-Man mock-up featuring Saul Goodman, highlights the popularity and admiration for the prequel series. The comments beneath the clip speak for themselves – with positive reviews for the animation and discussions into the DLC packs for the game.
To reflect on Better Call Saul’s success and legacy, which concluded after six critically acclaimed seasons, FlickLuster published a retrospective review of the Breaking Bad prequel. Better Call Saul stars Bob Odenkirk, Jonathan Banks, Rhea Seehorn, Michael McKean, Patrick Fabian, Michael Mando, Tony Dalton, Mark Margolis, Kerry Condon, and Giancarlo Esposito. All six seasons are available on Netflix.
