A Dina Lookalike Wants The Role In The Last Of Us TV Series

If there’s a contender for the role of Dina in a TV adaptation of The Last Of Us Part II, then it’d likely go to a young woman called Athena Nickole. As far as casting someone who looks like their video game counterpart, Nickole would save the casting directors a lot of time. Her resemblance to Dina is uncanny, and she demonstrates how similar her other features are by posing in front of a picture of the character.

To promote her chances of finding herself on a casting shortlist for the character, Nickole has a background in acting. Aged eight, according to her official website, Nickole joined the Greater Boston Stage Company, and now, with 350K followers online, Nickole is a writer, actor, and director of short films. Nickole has also scooped up fourteen awards for stage performance from the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild.

At the time of writing, one of Nickole’s posts has amassed over a million likes and more than 18,000 comments, primarily filled with praise and support. One response with more than 9,000 likes since being posted four days ago, from mf Brendan, reads: ”That’s literally you. If you don’t get cast, we riot.”

The Last Of Us adaptation covers the events of the first game, as Joel, a hardened smuggler travels across a post-pandemic USA to deliver an Ellie, an immune 14-year-old, to the Fireflies, a military group seeking to make a cure for the Cordyceps virus. The series is expected to debut sometime in early 2023.

The Last Of Us will star Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, Gabriel Luna (Tommy), Nick Offerman and Murray Bartlett (Bill and Frank), Storm Reid (Riley), Merle Dandridge (Marlene), Anna Torv (Tess), Nico Parker (Sarah), and Jeffrey Pierce as an original character.
