Annie Wersching (The Last Of Us’ Tess) Has Died Age 45

Actress Annie Wersching died of cancer early on the morning of Jan. 29. She was 45 years old, and known for her roles in the television shows 24, Bosch, Timeless, and The Vampire Diaries. In games she was best known as the voice actor for Tess in The Last Of Us. After her 2020 diagnosis, Wersching continued to shoot with recent roles in Star Trek: Picard and The Rookie. 

She is survived by her children Freddie, Ozzie and Archie, alongside her husband, actor Stephen Full, who issued a statement to Deadline. “There is a cavernous hole in the soul of this family today. But she left us the tools to fill it. She found wonder in the simplest moment. She didn’t require music to dance. She taught us not to wait for adventure to find you. ‘Go find it. It’s everywhere.’ And find it we shall.” Full continued “as I drove our boys, the true loves of her life, down the winding driveway and street, she would yell BYE! until we were out of earshot and into the world. I can still hear it ringing. Bye my Buddie. ‘I love you little family…’ ”

Neil Druckmann, creator of The Last of Us, also paid tribute in a tweet. The tweet links to a GoFundMe page that has been set up to raise money for Annie’s family, and to contribute towards the future of her children. 

We extend our deepest condolences to Annie’s family at this difficult and heartbraking time. The GoFundMe page can be found here, with the fundraiser already at 50% of its goal at time of writing with $125,000 earned out of a target $250,000.
