Atlus Confirms PSP Titles Will Stay Available for Purchase

Earlier in the year, Sony made the controversial announcement that the PSP, PS3 and PS Vita online stores would be closing. This idea was later mostly rescinded, but Sony commented that the closure of the PSP digital storefront would still be going ahead. In an update to their blog post originally addressing the closure of the storefronts, Atlus has confirmed that their PSP titles will still be available for purchase through the PS3 and PS Vita stores, even after the closure of the PSP store on July 2.

The list of Atlus PSP software confirmed to remain available for purchase on PS Vita and PS3 is as follows:

  • Hexyz Force (Sting the Best)
  • Growlanser (Atlus Best Collection)
  • Growlanser IV: Over Reloaded
  • Gloria Union
  • Persona (Atlus Best Collection)
  • Gungnir
  • Knights in the Nightmare
  • Princess Crown (Atlus Best Collection)
  • Blaze Union: Story to Reach the Future (Sting the Best)
  • Persona (Atlus Best Collection)
  • Persona 3 Portable (PSP the Best)
  • Persona 2: Innocent Sin
  • Persona 2: Eternal Punishment
  • Yggdra Union (Sting the Best)
  • Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner (Atlus Best Collection)
  • Tokyo Mono Harashi: Karasu no Mori Gakuen Kitan (Atlus Best Collection)

In a statement issued today, publisher Level-5 also confirmed that their PSP titles Little Battlers eXperience Boost, Little Battlers eXperience W, and Time Travelers will still be available for purchase via PS3 and PS Vita beyond the closure date.

While the future of PSP titles digitally remained somewhat uncertain after Sony’s statement, it makes sense that backwards compatibility means many titles will still be available. There will probably be further confirmation from publishers in the near future.

The PSP storefront will close on July 2.
