While exploring the Owlbear Nest in Baldur’s Gate 3, you may discover a glowing chest inside the cave. Unfortunately, if you attempt to open the Selune Gilded Chest, you will get hit by a magic blast that will knock your character off their feet. Baldur’s Gate 3 Selune Gilded Chest Guide
To open the Selune Gilded Chest, you must read the Prayer Sheet lying on the ground behind the statue of Selune. You won’t be able to reach this section by walking, and you must use the Jump action.
You can either press Z on your keyboard to make your character jump or click the Jump action button from your hot bar. Once you cross the gap, you can walk behind the statue, and you will automatically roll a Perception check.
If you pass, your character will notice a piece of paper on the ground. Next, you must pick up the Selunite Prayer Sheet and read it in front of the Gilded Chest of Selune.
I recommend using a unit with high stat in Religion to read the Selunite Prayer Sheet since you need to pass a Religion roll check. If you do this correctly, the treasure chest will stop glowing, and you can acquire an Idol of Selune, a Bloodstone, and a silver necklace.
I also suggest not bringing Shadowheart when opening the Selune Chest. This is because she is a follower of Shar, a long-time enemy of the goddess Selune. The woman will show disapproval when you try to take the items from the chest, believing that you should avoid anything related to Selune.
If you have her in your group, you can ungroup Shadowheart and leave her near the entrance. You can do this by pulling her portrait until the “chains” that connect to her break. Once you’re done, you can make her rejoin by pressing the G button on your keyboard.
Another way to is to leave Shadowheart back at the campsite and continue your journey without her on the party list. However, you are also free to let her follow you if you don’t particularly care about her approval or romancing her.
