Bethesda’s Next Elder Scrolls Game Will Be Mobile

In its E3 press conference, Bethesda confirmed that their next game in the Elder Scrolls series will be The Elder Scrolls: Blades, designed as a mobile game, available for Android and iOS. Todd Howard, director and executive producer at Bethesda, also stated that the game will be available on PC with VR capabilities.

The player will play as a member of the Blades, described as the “Empire’s top agents.” Upon returning home, the player finds their town destroyed. Forced into exile, the player must find a way to regain his or her status and rebuild their town.

Blades will play as a first-person RPG, allowing the player to fully customize their in-game character. Combat will feature melee weapons, ranged weapons, and various magic attacks. These can be performed by simply tapping the screen or by using virtual dual sticks. As one of the game’s special features, Blades will also allow gamers to play in portrait mode.

The game is slated for a fall 2018 release, coming first for mobile devices and eventually for PC, consoles, and VR.
