Black Ops Cold War Gets A New Weapon Tuning Update Next Week

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will receive a new weapon tuning update next week. With the full patch notes expected for Monday, the update will make adjustments to a variety of weaponry.

Treyarch confirmed the full list of weapons in a Twitter post. The studio’s adjustments include tweaks to the LC10 (recently added as part of the Season 2 update), MAC-10, FFAR 1, Magnum, and RPG-7 to name some and many more.

This is the first weapon tuning update in over three months since Treyarch’s last patch rolled out during the mid-season update for Season One of Black Ops Cold War. So if you’re looking for something to pass the time until Monday’s update, Treyarch have also announced a triple-double weekend until 10 AM PT on Monday, including Double Weapon and Battle Pass XP.

In terms of fan reaction to the weapon tuning, it has been mixed. Various users have been responding to the Twitter post, in particular, to complain about the sniper rifles being too overpowered.

In other Call Of Duty news, a report from ModernWarzone suggested that the upcoming Call Of Duty title due this year will be named Call Of Duty WWII: Vanguard. Nothing’s set in stone yet, but a wave of theories and leaks indicate that the new title will return to World War Two.

ModernWarzone adds that parts of Call Of Duty 2021 would take place in the 1950s, potentially in connection to the Korean War. Most interestingly, ModernWarzone speculates that the title would explore a “new fictitious timeline where World War Two didn’t end in 1945”.

Earlier in the month, Season 2 of Call of Duty: Mobile launched, featuring two exclusive maps from 2019’s Modern Warfare reboot and 2007’s Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. To top the return of Alex and voice actor Jeff Leach reprising his role as Ghost, Season 2 features new modes and weapons.
