We got plenty of new information about Overwatch 2 today, including what to expect from the new Battle Pass. One overlooked detail however is the reveal of Junkenstein’s Revenge: Wrath of the Bride, what seems to be a follow-up to the original Junkenstein’s Revenge Halloween event.
The trailer for Season One of Overwatch 2 quickly showcases the new event for a few seconds. The official blog post explaining Overwatch 2‘s mechanics gives us another look, with some interesting details. The screenshot seen below showcases an all-female cast for the new event, starring Sojurn, Junker Queen and Kiriko. Other artwork as shown above also shows Ashe with the team and Sombra dressed as Frankenstein’s Bride.
The cast of the event are seen entering the Castle of Aldersbrunn, known best to players as the Eichenwalde Castle. In the previous Junkenstein’s Revenge events, players had to defend the castle walls from Zomnic enemies, but it seems this time we may actually be going inside the castle to fight them out. What else awaits us inside is unknown, but we’d bet we’re hunting down the titular Bride, as portrayed by Sombra. She has good reason to be wrathful after how many times we destroyed Dr. Junkenstein.
The Wrath of the Bride event is set to run from Oct. 25 – Nov. 8, so we have a little wait before we can confirm this theory for good. Do you share our thoughts, or have any ideas of your own? Let us know in the comments below, and keep your eyes on GameLuster for more news.
