PS5-Exclusive Deathloop Coming To Xbox With Huge Update

The former PlayStation 5 console exclusive Deathloop will release on Xbox Series X/S on Sept. 20, and be included same-day with Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass. The transition away from PlayStation console exclusive was always expected eventually, given that Microsoft bought developer Arkane Studios’ parent company ZeniMax Media, but it’s no less exciting.

On the same day the game releases on Xbox, a big new update titled Goldenloop will be shaking things up. The first major addition is crossplay PvP matchmaking, which will allow players from PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, Epic and the Microsoft Store to all play together. This is complemented by a cross-save feature exclusive for Xbox and Microsoft Store PC players, allowing them to jump right into the action between both platforms.

Deathloop 2 Paint Bomber
The new update is sure to be a blast, much like the new Paint-Bomber enemy.

New content will be coming to all versions of the game with Goldenloop. There are 2-in-1 trinkets, for double the chaos and double the fun. The new Fugue ability will be added, intoxicating enemies that the projectile hits. This can be expanded on with four discoverable upgrades. Upgrades have also been added to Julianna’s Masquerade ability, which used to have no upgrades but will be given four.

A new enemy is introduced in Goldenloop with the Paint-Bomber, wearing an explosive jacket of paint bombs to take both you and them down at once. A final interesting addition is an expanded ending, as well as other secrets which will need to be played to be revealed.
