Borderlands 4 Is Releasing Earlier, Dedicated State Of Play Tomorrow

The latest in the long-running looter-shooter franchise Borderlands 4 is getting its own State of Play. The Borderlands 4 State of Play is scheduled to air online tomorrow on April 30 at 2PM PT, which is 5PM ET, 10PM BST or 11PM CEST. The showcase will feature members of the Gearbox team sharing details on their latest title, consisting of 20 minutes of news about missions, weapons, action skills, featured characters and more.

Not only are we set to learn a lot more about Borderlands 4 tomorrow, but the team also announced via social media that the game will be releasing two weeks earlier. Originally scheduled for a Sep. 23 release, Borderlands 4 is now releasing on Sept. 12. The change in release date is likely to avoid clashing with the upcoming Ghost of Yotei on Oct. 2, or perhaps even the elusive Grand Theft Auto VI

The upcoming Borderlands 4 is now scheduled to release on September 12.

PlayStation have been a key part of the Borderlands 4 marketing cycle, with their February State of Play event unveiling the former Borderlands 4 release date, and them now hosting the new State of Play entirely dedicated to it, and promoting it on their social media. It’s interesting to see Gearbox and Sony pair up like this, and we’re looking forward to seeing more of the game at tomorrow’s event. Introducing new traversal options like a grappling hook, and a seamless world with no more loading screens, it could be quite the shakeup for the franchise. Borderlands 4 releases this September on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.

Will you be watching the Borderlands 4 State of Play event, and are you looking forward to the game? Why do you think they shifted release dates to come two weeks earlier? Let us know in the comments below, and keep your eyes on GameLuster for more breaking gaming news and updates.
