Call Of Duty: Warzone Could Be Heading To Mobile Devices

Call Of Duty: Warzone appears to be heading to mobile devices. According to a job listing from Activision, the developers are seeking a features executive producer to oversee a new mobile game known as WZM, most likely an abbreviation for Warzone Mobile. However, at the time of writing, the vacancy has already been filled.

So Activision are clearly not wasting any time with this latest endeavor, considering the time it’s taken for them to find a producer. “As Executive Producer, Features you will own product framing and player experience of a new AAA mobile FPS in the Call of Duty franchise,” the job description reads.

Activision are seeking “a skilled communicator and development leader”, someone who can “define and harvest the important elements that define a best-in-class mobile shooter game,”

The listing details the more Warzone-specific requirements. Applicants will also need to:

  • Harvest, adapt and deliver the essential features from Warzone console and PC into their best mobile instantiation.
  • Improve upon the Warzone formula by proposing and producing mobile-specific additions and changes to features to ensure a best-in-class mobile experience that players will love.
  • Serve as primary point of contact on Warzone Mobile leadership team for clarity and decisions on user-facing features, UX and overall quality.

In August, Activision reported that Call Of Duty: Warzone had amassed more than 75 million players since it’s launch back in March 2020. In the first month since its launch, Activision’s battle-royale had already pulled in a staggering 50 million players.

With the equally successful Call Of Duty: Mobile, the combination of Warzone on a mobile device could prove to be a big hit for the company.

Last week, the multiplayer mode for Call Of Duty: Black Ops: Cold War, was unveiled. The trailer’s description says that Black Ops: Cold War will feature “a fully-connected Multiplayer experience with cross-play, cross-gen, and cross-progression support for the entire community.”
