Classic Metal Gear And Castlevania Games Now Available On PC

As part of their presentation at the all-virtual 2020 edition of Tokyo Game Show, publisher Konami has revealed that a number of its beloved classic titles will now be available for PC via This gives gamers an exciting opportunity to experience beloved favorites which may have become otherwise difficult to access in recent years.

The games available to play via GOG include the original 1987 stealth-action title Metal Gear, the very first entry in the popular franchise of the same name, as well as two of its follow-up titles, 1998’s Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance, the expanded version of the original 2001 Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. If you prefer a different series with a fantasy twist instead, Konami is also offering a five-game bundle entitled Konami Collector’s Series: Castlevania & Contra (why they didn’t go for the catchy nickname “C&C,” we will perhaps never know). The 8-bit classics included in this collection are Castlevania, Castlevania 2: Simon’s Quest, Castlevania 3: Dracula’s Curse, Contra, and Super C. The original trilogy of Castlevania games introduce players to the Belmont family, including noted vampire hunter (and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fighter) Simon Belmont, while Contra chronicles the adventures of an elite squad of soldiers living on a futuristic version of Earth.

All five games have been updated to support modern PC hardware and are available to purchase on beginning today.
