Developed by Hazelight Studios and published by Electronic Arts, It Takes Two is a unique take on the action-adventure and platformer genres. The game, which tells the story of a couple struggling to repair their failing relationship, has no single-player option – it can only be completed by two players working together. It Takes Two released in March 2021 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Now the game, which received generally positive reviews and won a number of awards, including Game of the Year, is making its way to the Nintendo Switch.
It Takes Two tells the story of Cody and May, a couple in the process of getting a divorce. Their daughter Rose, who is struggling with accepting the divorce, accidentally traps her parents in the form of handmade dolls resembling them. Cody and May are forced to complete a number of trials in order to return to their human bodies. In the process, they learn to work together once again, strengthen their connection, and rediscover their lost passions. The game received praise for its heartwarming story and the effortless blending of story and gameplay.

The Nintendo Switch version of It Takes Two can be played locally or online using the Friend’s Pass system. The Friend’s Pass system, which was introduced during the initial release of It Takes Two, allows the game to be played fully even if only one person owns the full version of the game. Creating a Nintendo Account will be required for both parties in order to use the Friend’s Pass system on the Nintendo Switch console. Local co-op can be accomplished using a single Nintendo Switch, while the online multiplayer version will require two different Nintendo Switch consoles.
It Takes Two will officially debut for the Nintendo Switch on November 4, 2022.
