Fae Farm is a Magical New Farming Simulator for Nintendo Switch

The September 13 Nintendo Direct livestream event was absolutely jam packed with announcements regarding beloved games both old and new. One brand-new title announced was Fae Farm, an upcoming farming simulator and RPG from developer Phoenix Labs. Fae Farm represents the first foray into the farming sim genre for Phoenix Labs, which previously developed the massive multiplayer online role-playing game Dauntless.

Fae Farm takes place on the island of Azoria, where enchanted fae magic can be used to grow crops, defeat enemies, explore the world, and more. The first trailer for Fae Farm showed off a variety of tasks players can engage in, including mining, fishing, befriending villagers, fighting, foraging, critter-catching, and, of course, farming. Along the way, players will learn a variety of spells that can make their farm and house even better and help restore Azoria to its former glory.

While Fae Farm definitely draws inspiration from classic farming and life simulator games such as Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley, it features a unique twist in the form of the Cozy System. As players upgrade and decorate their house – making it “cozier” – they will gain more health, more mana, and overall more resources, allowing them to do more each day. The game will also feature a day-night cycle and a seasonal cycle with unique bonuses, items, and events related to each season.

Fae Farm can be played as a single-player experience, but up to four players can cooperate to farm and adventure together. Both local and online multiplayer options will be available, so gamers can experience Fae Farm with friends all over the world. Currently, Fae Farm is scheduled to release in Spring 2023 for the Nintendo Switch. An official release date has not yet been announced. Hopefully, more information regarding this adorable, magical farming sim will be released in the near future.
