Cult Of The Lamb Releasing Major Free Content Update

Combination roguelike and cult management simulator Cult of the Lamb received high praise when it initially released in 2022. Fans enjoyed the game’s cute-yet-creepy art style, frantic gameplay, and surprisingly dark story. Now, Cult of the Lamb fans have received some good news as part of today’s Nintendo Indie World event. Nintendo and publisher Devolver Digital have confirmed that the game will be receiving a major free update featuring tons of new content and challenges.

The update, entitled Relics of the Old Faith, focuses on postgame content and gameplay challenges for those who want to make the Lamb’s journey to build their Cult even trickier than before. Remixed dungeons will allow players to fight new enemies alongside brand-new versions of the Four Guardian Bishop bosses. A new unlockable quest will expand the post-game story, although what that story will contain has not yet been revealed. In addition, players who have beaten the main game will be able to unlock and complete the challenging “Permadeath Gauntlet” and “Boss Rush” modes.

However, not all of the content featured in the update is designed for postgame players. As the title suggests, several new Relics will be added to the game, as will several new followers that you can recruit into your cult. There will also be four new structures that players can build and add to their base, including a Kitchen – presumably to cook food for followers – and the sinister Crypt.

Currently, the Relics of the Old Faith update for Cult of the Lamb is scheduled to release on April 24, 2023. Although the Indie World event only confirmed the update for the Nintendo Switch version of the game, it is likely that it will also debut for other platforms and consoles. Currently, Cult of the Lamb is available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S in addition to the Switch.
