Cyberpunk 2077 Reveals Photo Mode

We’re just one week away from the highly anticipated launch of CD Projekt RED’s open world futuristic adventure, Cyberpunk 2077. The studio has been releasing trailers and bits of news to tide fans over until December 10, when the game is set to release. Most recently, CD Projekt shared with fans a trailer introducing the game’s Photo Mode.

A number of recently released open world and adventure games have featured a Photo Mode, including Ghost of Tsushima, Horizon Zero Dawn, Death Stranding, and more. Photo Mode can be used to capture images which give players far more flexibility and freedom than simple screenshot, allowing them to apply filters, pose characters, and more. Fans have long suspected that Cyberpunk 2077 would feature a similar mode, but this trailer is the first official confirmation of its existence.

Based on the trailer, Cyberpunk 2077’s photo mode seems pretty intense. Players can choose between a huge roster of poses to catch their character mid-combat or simply chilling out, apply a number of cool effects including bright neon filters, and adjust everything from depth of field to brightness and contrast to the type of camera used to take the shot. The trailer doesn’t show off everything, but one camera option is “Drone!” Plus, you can add punk-inspired stickers including the game’s logo, a “Bang” sound effect, and more.

The trailer showed off several cool shots, including one version of player character V lounging by their motorcycle, another watching over Night City from above, and still another Y-posing while something huge explodes in the background.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be releasing on December 10 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Stadia, and PC.
