Kojima Productions 2019 Action/Horror can be redeemed for free on the epic store on Christmas Day only. With the sequel having just been announced at the game awards, these end-of-year holidays may be perfect for curious individuals.
Death Stranding stars Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead) as Sam Porter Bridges, a courier who is to reconnect the people of a North America scattered by a cataclysmic extinction event. The world is now overrun by lost souls, errant couriers and terrorists. The cast also includes film actors like Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal), Lea Seydoux (No TIme To Die), and Margaret Qualley (Once Upon A Time In Hollywood) alongside game’s industry veteran actors such as Troy Baker (The Last Of Us) and Tommie Earl Jenkins (Bayonetta 3).
The gameplay is a mixture of an open world exploration game play Assassin’s Creed and a third-person shooter in the vein of Hitman. Though the primary gameplay loop is that of a deliveryman, carrying necessary supplies and sentimental items to isolated people holed up in bunkers. To redeem your free copy of Death Stranding, you need to:
- Open the Epic store on PC or Mac.
- Scroll down the free games section (F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch will be free tomorrow as well).
- Click on Death Stranding, press “Get” and “Place Order” in checkout.
Once you’ve done that, the game will be yours to own forever and can be found in your library, ready for download.
