Diablo III is Making its Way Over to the Nintendo Switch

Blizzard Entertainment has officially announced that Diablo III is coming to the Nintendo Switch.

Diablo III: Eternal Collection will release for the Switch in 2018. The port will include all of the game’s expansions. It will also allow players to dive into adventure mode without having to complete the game’s campaign first. There will also be Switch exclusive Zelda-themed content. This includes a cosmetic transmog armor set based on Zelda baddie Ganondorf, as well as a Cucco pet. There will also be a Triforce portrait frame, and a set of wings for the player to wear.

The Switch version of the RPG will support four players locally on a single console, as well as the ability to link four consoles together wirelessly. The game can be played with a single Joy-Con, or with both Joy-Cons and the Nintendo Pro Controller.

Online play will be through Nintendo’s online service, and it will make use of the service’s cloud saving. If someone has a Diablo III cloud save, they will be able to load their profile onto another Switch to use their character in local play. The game will run at 60 frames per second across the board. It will play at a native 720p in handheld mode, and 920p while docked.

Diablo III: Eternal Collection will release on the Nintendo Switch later this year. No definitive date has been given at the time of this article.
