A new update to Disney Dreamlight Valley allows players to customize any character’s role. Prior to this, characters’ roles were permanent, and could not be altered. Now, players have the ability to change their selections if they decide that a certain role is not the right fit for their character. With a few simple steps, you’ll be able to assign your villagers new roles that best suit them within the game. In this guide, we’ll show you how to do just that!
Getting Started
Changing villager roles requires the crafting of a Training Manual. You can craft Training Manuals at any Crafting Station. In order to craft different manuals, you need a certain amount of Dreamlight, plus other specific resources. For example, to make the Foraging Training Manual, you must collect bananas, blueberries, and basil.
Below we’ve shared a list of all the Training Manuals, as well as the necessary resources you’ll need to craft them:
- Mining Manual: Dreamlight x5,000, Topaz x2, Aquamarine x2, Peridot x2
- Gardening Manual: Dreamlight x5,000, Corn x40, Tomato x60, Carrot x20
- Fishing Manual: Dreamlight x5,000, Swordfish x2, Bream x5, Herring x10
- Foraging Manual: Dreamlight x5,000, Banana x30, Blueberry x20, Basil x10
- Digging Manual: Dreamlight x5,000, Pebbles x20, Sand x20, Soil x30
After crafting these Training Manuals, keep them in your inventory, and search for the villager whose role you want to change. Once found, interact with them and gift them one of the Training Manuals. For example, if you want to change one of the villagers’ roles from fishing to mining, gift them the Mining Manual. Once they accept the gift, their role will instantly change.
It’s important to note that changing a villager’s role is only possible if your Friendship Level with them is 10. You’ll need to reach this level first before being able to assign a new role.
