Every Switch Game Enhancement On Switch 2 Detailed By Nintendo

The Nintendo Switch 2 is less than a month away, and Nintendo have detailed how each Nintendo Switch game receiving a free update for Switch 2 will be enhanced, and what features will come with each release. We’re going to break them down for you, hopefully making them a little easier to read and comprehend.

There are a total of 11 games receiving free updates. Here’s what each game is getting updated with, and keep in mind that all of these updates release on June 5 along with the Nintendo Switch 2!

  • 51 Worldwide Games – GameShare support added so up to four people can play 34 of the games together, either local or online via GameChat
  • ARMS – improved image quality, frame rate including three or more player fights and HDR support
  • Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain – GameShare support added so four people can play party mode, either locally or online via GameChat
  • Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker – improved image quality, HDR support added and GameShare support so two people can play the whole game together, either locally or online via GameChat
  • Game Builder Garage – improved image quality and Joy-Con 2 mouse controls added
  • New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe – improved image quality
  • Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet – improved image quality and frame rate
  • Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury – improved image quality, frame rate, HDR support added and GameShare allows up to four people to play the base game or two people on Bowser’s Fury, either locally or online via GameChat
  • Super Mario Odyssey – improved image quality, HDR support added and GameShare allows for two people to play together either locally or online via GameChat
  • The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom – improved image quality and HDR support added
  • The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening – improved image quality and HDR support added
Cappy and Mario are back in an enhanced Super Mario Odyssey update, completely free for Switch 2 players.

It’s interesting that all of these software updates are listed with individual release dates on the official Nintendo website despite the fact that they’re all releasing on the same day. Perhaps this suggests that more free updates could be coming which would have different release dates scheduled.

That’s all of the Switch game enhancements that are confirmed to be coming free on day one of the Switch 2’s release. What other original Switch games do you want to see get free updates next?
