We’re rapidly approaching the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, and Nintendo have shown what Pokémon Scarlet and Violet look like running on the system with its upcoming free enhancement update. Serebii received images of the games being output in 4K, and it looks so much clearer, sharper and far more alive than in the original release.
Comparisons between the two new screenshots have been shared all over the internet, and we’re including both showcases of the two new previews below. As you can see, Pokémon spawns seem to be hugely increased, with so many more Pokémon models appearing on screen at the same time. The models look far cleaner, with a lot less blur on the details in the foliage, and it’s all confirmed to be running at a higher frame rate too.
The gameplay of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet was almost universally enjoyed for its different story paths and open-world mechanics, it was just a shame to see it run so slow and with such low quality textures. It looks much more inviting being able to see the game clearly and knowing it likely has a full 60 FPS frame rate. Whilst the clearer image quality may make some of the lower quality texture work even more obvious, overall it looks like an improvement. This is just one of the eleven confirmed Nintendo Switch game enhancements coming to Switch 2 that Nintendo recently detailed.
