Fable 4 Has A New Narrative Lead

News of the upcoming Fable title has remained mostly quiet since the title’s announcement at the Xbox Games Showcase in 2020. However, it appears that Fable now has a new narrative lead. Just last month, GameLuster reported that one of Fable‘s senior producers denied claims that the game was in development trouble.

So, who has joined Playground Games’ Fable team? Anna Megill, also known for being a writer on Dishonored: Death of the Outsider and the upcoming Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, as well as narrative lead on Control, has stepped up to the mantel of narrative lead on Fable. It’s worth noting that Megill was originally the Lead Writer for the title, and on her own blog, she writes that “it’s not really a promotion, more a reflection of the job I’ve actually been doing.”

Megill also announced the news on Twitter. Later, she affirmed in a separate tweet that “it takes a whole team to make a game” and “my #Fable writing team is *staggeringly* talented.” Now, we can only wait for a new trailer or official update to see Fable come to life.

As noted, there are very few details floating around about the upcoming Fable title; so much so that we don’t know what the title is for sure. The official website on Microsoft reads that Fable is “a new beginning for the legendary franchise” where players can “explore a land of fantastical creatures and wondrous places.” This doesn’t give much away at all, nor was anything further announced or revealed at the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase last month.

As for Playground Games, they are the face behind the Forza Horizon series, so it’ll be interesting to see what they do with a completely different game like Fable.

What we do know is that Fable will be available on Xbox Series X and S, and PC. For more on Fable and other secretive titles, stay tuned right here at GameLuster.
