Fall Guys Has Been Played More Than GTA 5 On Steam

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is currently more popular than Grand Theft Auto V on Steam. Mediatonic’s recent battle royale has been a breakout hit for gamers and a major talking point this summer. As of today, according to a Twitter post from Eurogamer (seen below), the numbers of players now exceeds 120,000, with Grand Theft Auto V coming in at a little over 110,000.

The only games currently above Fall Guys are Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, and PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS. At its peak, Global Offensive pulled in over 858,000 players.

At its peak today, Fall Guys reached over 124,000 players, further beating big-name titles including Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, Football Manager 2020, and Destiny 2. Published by Devolver Digital and recently released on August 4, Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is a multiplayer party game that welcomes up to 60 players at any one time in a round. Players compete in a free-for-all struggle through several rounds of escalating chaos in order to be the last one standing.

According to Twitch Tracker, at the time of publication, Fall Guys is the sixth highest-viewed game based on viewer count, drawing in 127k, beating Minecraft, World Of Warcraft, Apex Legends and Dead By Daylight. It sits just behind Grand Theft Auto V which at this time, has pulled a viewer count of 128k.

Currently, Fall Guys is one of two games that is free via Playstation Plus for August. The remastered, single-player campaign of Modern Warfare 2 is also available for Plus members, and similarly to Fall Guys, will remain on the service until August 31.

As of 12:01 a.m. today, (August 8), through to midnight on August 9, all multiplayer modes on the Playstation 4 are completely free. For these two days, the standard subscription for PlayStation Plus will be lifted. Multiplayer games will need to be purchased however, in the event that they are not free-to-play.
