Famitsu: Donkey Kong Country Returns HD Debuts With Over 100,000 Sales

Every Thursday we share the weekly Famitsu sales charts, which tracks physical boxed game sales and hardware sales in Japan. This week’s chart covers Jan. 13 – 19, as Donkey Kong Country Returns HD swung into action with over 100,000 sales within its first weekend on sale. This is about 20,000 units higher than the Tropical Freeze’s Switch release numbers, perhaps showing a growth in DK interest. It was a clear win for Nintendo, in a refreshing week of many new releases.

Behind Donkey Kong was the new Dynasty Warriors: Origins for PS5, followed by the Switch release of Tales of Graces f Remastered at #3 with over 25,000 sales, and the PS5 release at #5 which shifted over 15,000 units. Down at #10 we also have the release of SYNDUALITY Echo of Ada – Deluxe Edition on PS5 releasing to just over 5,000 copies sold.
