Every Thursday we share the weekly Famitsu sales charts, which tracks physical boxed game sales and hardware sales in Japan, and we’re back after a long holiday break! This week’s chart covers Jan. 6 – 12, as Super Mario Party Jamboree tops the chart for a ninth week – with sales numbers over the holiday period and the past week sending the game soaring past one million total physical units sold in Japan.
Thanks to an additional 26,000 copies sold this week, and another 23,000 more sold over the Christmas and New Year weeks, the latest entry in the Mario Party series easily crossed the million sales mark. Freedom Wars also makes its debut this week, securing a place at #4 with over 8,000 copies sold on Switch, and at #7 with a little under 5,000 units sold on PS5.
