Famitsu: Gundam Breaker Soars To #1, Visions Of Mana Debuts

Every Thursday we share the weekly Famitsu sales charts, which tracks physical boxed game sales and hardware sales in Japan. This week’s chart covers Aug. 26 – Sept. 1, as the Nintendo Switch release of Gundam Breaker 4 takes the top spot thanks to over 52,000 sales. After a rough few weeks with little in the way of new titles, this week is blowing up the Famitsu charts with new titles.

Switch wasn’t the only platform that Gundam Breaker 4 debuted on, as its PS5 release takes #3 with 32,000 sales, and its PS4 release coming #6 with 13,000 units sold. In total, Gundam Breaker 4 sold a little under 100,000 units in its first week. Very impressive!

Taking second place this week goes to party game and absolute mouthful Umamusume: Pretty Derby – Party Dash, which sold almost 38,000 units, followed at #4 by the debut of JRPG Visions of Mana on PS5 selling 30,000 copies, whilst its PS4 release takes #9 with 10,000 sales. Continuing down the list of hot new debuts, #5 goes to Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club, and Star Wars: Outlaws rounds out the list of new titles at #8 with just 10,000 copies sold.

It’s a relatively weak launch for the latest in the legendary Mana series, despite positive fan feedback.
