Every Thursday we share the weekly Famitsu sales charts, which tracks physical boxed game sales and hardware sales in Japan. This week’s chart covers August 19 – 25, as Power Pros 2024-2025 spends yet another week on top. The Japanese baseball game has been #1 for six weeks now, with an additional 10,000 sales pushing it past the 265,000 sales mark in less than two months. Despite the stellar sales, its lead is gradually slipping with its competition.
These are some spectacular numbers, and it’s been a long reign for the game, but for the last few weeks we can’t deny that sales have been slow across the board for most games. Big new releases are few and far between, and the debuts we have seen haven’t tended to stick around for a while. We can see this reflected on the last few sales charts too, which are mostly evergreen Nintendo Switch games, with an occasional new release popping up then disappearing. We’re expecting that all to change next week as Black Myth: Wukong will be making its sales debut – so be sure to check back!
For now though, here’s the full Famitsu software sales chart for August 19 – 25. Missed our last report where Power Pros 2024-2025 spent a combined two weeks at #1? Check out the previous Famitsu chart right here!
