Famitsu Sales: Capcom Fighting Collection 2 Leads Slow Week As Switch 2 Looms

Every Thursday we share the weekly Famitsu sales charts, which tracks physical boxed game sales and hardware sales in Japan. This week’s chart covers May 12 – 18, as Capcom Fighting Collection 2 leads a slow week for sales. Taking the top spot with less than 8,000 copies sold on Nintendo Switch, the Famitsu sales chart is seemingly experience a period of calm before the upcoming storm of the Switch 2 launch.

Sales have slowed across the board, with even the evergreen titles that have sold incredibly well lately like Super Mario Party Jamboree and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe experiencing a slow down and drop in weekly sales. The same applies to hardware, with Switch and PS5 weekly sales also down. Despite this, the Switch is still selling over 20,000 units even in its slow weeks, a testament to its sales power and what we may be in store for with the Switch 2 yet again.
