Famitsu Sales: Dating Sim Remaster Pushes Monster Hunter Wilds Out

Every Thursday we share the weekly Famitsu sales charts, which tracks physical boxed game sales and hardware sales in Japan. This week’s chart covers May 5 – 11, as Monster Hunter Wilds finally departs the top ten, pushed away alongside the #1 debut of Tokimeki Memorial: Forever with you Emotional, a remaster of a classic 1995 dating simulator game. The dating sim managed to sell an impressive 21,000 units, securing the top spot with ease compared to other game sales this week.

Trailing behind at #2 is actually Minecraft, which sells another 8,000 copies and has been a surprise evergreen Switch release in Japan that isn’t actually a Nintendo first party title. We’ve also got the massively popular Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 still floating around down at #7, pushing another 3,000 copies out and breezing by 10,000 total sales in Japan this week.
