Every Thursday we share the weekly Famitsu sales charts, which tracks physical boxed game sales and hardware sales in Japan. This week’s chart covers Oct. 14 – 20, as the latest entry in the Mario Party series is off to a flying start, thanks to a whopping 227,000 sales for Super Mario Party Jamboree in its first few days.
This big opening sales puts Super Mario Party Jamboree ahead of both Super Mario Party and Mario Party Superstars, which both opened below 170,000 units sold. In fact, Jamboree only falls behind the openings of Mario Party 8 from the Wii and Mario Party DS – making it the third fastest-selling Mario Party game, as well as the fastest of the Switch era.
Here’s the full Famitsu software sales chart for Oct. 14 – 20. Missed our last report where Metaphor ReFantazio and Dragon Ball both managed to dethrone Zelda? Check out the previous Famitsu chart right here!
