The 20th anniversary of Ratchet & Clank is here, and with that come some new surprise announcements from developers Insomniac Games. In a PlayStation blog post, the studio confirmed that five classic Ratchet & Clank games will be heading to the PlayStation Plus Premium service later in the month. These will be joining the other five already available, making for a grand total of ten space adventures with Ratchet & Clank.

The five games being added to PS+ Premium are all PS3 versions, and will be available on Nov. 15. They are:

  • Ratchet & Clank
  • Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando
  • Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal
  • Ratchet & Clank: Deadlocked
  • Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction

These titles will be joining the other PS3 games that are already available on the service, which are:

  • Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty
  • Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time
  • Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One
  • Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault

Today marks the 20th anniversary of the iconic PlayStation alien-robot duo.

The PS+ additions aren’t the only way Insomniac will be celebrating the anniversary. Players of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will be able to claim a free 20th Anniversary Armor Pack, starting today when the game receives an update. Four of the armor sets being added are inspired by past series titles, these being Going CommandoA Crack in TimeQuest for Booty and Deadlocked. The fifth armor set celebrates Ratchet’s best robot buddy, Clank. We loved Rift Apart, and it even ended up in our 2021 Top 10.

The blog ends with quotes from some key figures at Insomniac, as well as some design documents showcasing the weapons, worlds and friends of the Ratchet & Clank series. The franchise has come a long way since its debut, even getting its own feature film in in 2016. We’re excited to see what the future has in store for our favorite alien and robot duo, and you can be sure that it’ll be covered on GameLuster as it comes.
