Modern Warfare II: Players Want Aim Assist Nerfed

The Call of Duty community wants aim assist to be nerfed – with appeals from players that it’s too powerful. Whether you agree as part of the community or not, the visual evidence makes for a compelling argument, with players sharing their gameplay footage across Infinity Ward’s social media channels.

Aim assist, to put it simply, is a gameplay mechanic that focuses on levelling the playing field from the controller to keyboard users and helps players to guide their weapons toward enemies. In one clip posted to the Modern Warfare II Reddit page, a player demonstrates what they describe as a “broken” aim assist. “Been a lot of discussion about Aim Assist. Would like to see others try exactly what I do in this video and see the results.”

Other players, however, have not been able to replicate the issues demonstrated. “I think this is a PC w/ controller issue, NOT console,” says Reddit user u/its__M4GNUM. In response to the clip, another Redditor, LoneStar2911, described the footage as “pretty much my experience as well. I can’t replicate the insane “aim assist” we’re seeing in videos.”

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare II launched on Oct. 28 across all major platforms, including the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC via Battle.net and Steam. Do you think the aim assist feature should be nerfed in Modern Warfare II? Let us know in the comments below!
