The summer celebration for Fortnite is here, and Epic is celebrating a little differently this year. Across the next 14 days, there will be daily weapon unvaults with an accompanying challenge for each. This starts today with the Grapple Glove! Completing these challenges will reward players with XP, helping them level up to unlock more of their Battle Pass along with some cosmetic rewards.
There are a total of four free summer Fortnite cosmetic rewards to earn, including a cactus-themed Back Bling and Pickaxe, a Nana shark Spray and an ice cream Spray. These rewards are a little underwhelming compared to previous Fortnite summer events, but Epic hope to make up for that with the two whole weeks of new unvaults. These range from classics like the Rocket Launcher and Boogie Bomb, through to newer tools like Zeus’ Thunderbolt and the Kinetic Boomerang.
Along with the 14 daily unvaults and free earnable cosmetics, there will also be themed weekly updates to the Fortnite Blitz Royale mode, a rapid-pace 32 player Fortnite experience that ramps up the speed of a regular Fortnite game. Additionally, the official Squid Game-themed Reload map gets released next week, along with Squid Game skins. If you want to take a break from the fighting, you could always check out the new Fortnite Festival with Bruno Mars as the headlining artist!
