It’s been a while since we had some news on Fuga: Melodies of Steel, the new entry in CyberConnect2’s Little Tail Bronx series, and now we have a nearby release date! The game will be launching on July 29, now with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles added to its list of platforms.
In Fuga: Melodies of Steel, you’re given command of a group of twelve anthropomorphic boys and girls – Felineko and Caninu people as seen in the other Little Tail Bronx games – who are trying to save their families as they fight their way through a country which has been plunged into a ferocious war. To do so, they have at their disposal an almighty tank, the Taranis, kitted out with a truly devastating weapon known as the Soul Cannon. Using the Soul Cannon requires you to sacrifice one of your characters – that’s a pretty brutal mechanic!

A Deluxe Edition of the game has also been revealed, which includes a downloadable art book and soundtrack as well as a host of in-game bonuses, including swimwear costumes, a Dummy Soul that allows you to use the Soul Cannon without sacrificing a character, and a set of items.
For those interested in getting to know more of the lore and characters ahead of the game’s release, the CyberConnect2 YouTube channel has some animated comics. The first of these, How It All Began, shows the children discovering the Taranis and war coming to the village, while the second is the more light-hearted Fuga: Comedies of Steel Vol. 1, focusing on main character Malt.
