Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp Comes to Switch This December

Likely one of the more surprising reveals from Nintendo’s E3 Direct was the announcement of Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp. This collection of the first two Advance Wars games is “reimagined and rebuilt from the ground up” and coming to Nintendo Switch on December 3.

Here’s the official announcement trailer:

This remake will feature two campaigns, covering the events of Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising, both of which were originally released for the Game Boy Advance way back when.

In Advance Wars, you command land, air, and naval units in turn-based combat. In addition to capturing towns and bases from the enemy, you’ll need to be mindful of terrain and weather conditions that could turn the tide of battle. There’s also a Versus Mode, where you can battle on maps with up to 3 other players and compete.

Talk about a nice surprise! It’s not a new Advance Wars game, but it’s a much-needed return of the franchise and a great opportunity for players unfamiliar with the series to easily be able to give it a look.

Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp launches on December 3 for the Nintendo Switch. It is available to pre-order from the Nintendo eShop from today.
