Gamescom Opening Night: The Sims 4 Receiving Star Wars Game Pack

The next Game Pack for popular life simulator The Sims 4 is here — and it wouldn’t be a stretch to describe it as “out of this world”! Revealed during the Gamescom 2020 Opening Night livestream event, Journey to Baatu is an official collaboration between The Sims and the beloved science-fiction franchise Star Wars. It’s truly the type of Sims content which many fans have been eagerly awaiting since their childhood!

True to its name, Journey to Baatu will allow your Sims to visit the spaceport of Baatu, an important location from Disney’s Star Wars theme park, “Galaxy’s Edge.” While there, they will be able to interact with Storm Troopers, space pilots, aliens of all species, and even popular characters from the films, including heroic Rey, villainous Kylo Ren, and the series’ beloved robot mascots such as R2-D2. The trailer even hints that players visiting Baatu might be able to get directly involved in the conflict between the Resistance and the First Order. Will you side with Rey or Ren? It’s up to you — and your Sims, of course!

While on Baatu, players will be able to obtain brand new Star Wars-themed items, including clothes, home decorations, and upgrades, and even fully functional lightsabers! You can redecorate your house to resemble the Mos Eisley Cantina or any number of other famous Star Wars locations, or just add a bit of an outer space flair to an existing design. Your imagination, and the furthest edge of the universe, is your only limit.

The Sims 4 is currently available for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Journey to Baatu, which will be released on September 8, must be purchased separately.

Could Journey to Baatu mean that future collaborations could be in store for The Sims 4? We can only hope so!
