Gigantic Monster Hunter Wilds Update Releases April 4, Adding New Monsters And More

Today was the first post-launch Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase event stream, and we had a lot of big news. From new monster quests to new social locations and even new quest types, there was a lot revealed. The showcase even closed out with a teaser of what’s to come in the second free Title Update later this summer, so let’s break down everything we just saw.

Firstly, we had confirmation that not only will Mizutsune be coming to the game as a huntable monster complete with new craftable armor sets, but Zoh Shia will also become available in repeatable hunts, again with a new set of gear. Those who’ve already played Monster Hunter Wilds will be familiar with Zoh Shia, and are likely both excited and afraid of this challenge. If it’s harder challenge you’re looking for then you’re in luck, as a maximum difficulty Arch-tempered Rey Dau event quest will be available at a later date, with new gear only available to those ready for the toughest of fights.

Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update Grand Hub felynes
The Grand Hub gives you a new way to relax between fights in Monster Hunter Wilds.

If you want more challenge, new Arena Quests will allow hunters to take part in competitive time-trial quests, where only the fastest will earn the rewards. Challenge Quests will also be making an appearance as limited-time event quests that only allow specified equipment against certain monsters.

If all this hunting is making you tired, Monster Hunter Wilds will be getting a new Grand Hub, a place for you to gather, socialize, play a new minigame and even occasionally enjoy a musical performance. The Grand Hub will change with the seasons, and be the main area players will engage with future seasonal content, starting this spring with the Festival of Accord: Blossomdance. Starting on April 23, players will be able to complete new quests and earn seasonal rewards all within the Grand Hub. Finally, both free and paid cosmetic DLC will become available, including a currently unspecified collaboration with another Capcom franchise and new costumes for Alma.
