GoldenEye 007 Arrives On Nintendo Switch And Xbox This Friday

The legendary James Bond will be arriving on Nintendo Switch and Xbox this Friday, Jan. 27. GoldenEye 007 joins both the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack and Xbox Game Pass. Subscribers to the either service will have the iconic British secret agent join their growing library of games later this week, but there are some differences between the versions.

Those playing GoldenEye 007 on Xbox will receive a remastered experience, complete with split-screen multiplayer, 4K resolution and a smoother frame rate. On Switch however, players will receive the original game with local multiplayer, and with an added online four-player action. The Switch release comes as part of the Nintendo 64 game library, available only to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members. GoldenEye 007 will join other retro classics like Banjo-KazooieSuper Mario 64 and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

For Xbox Game Pass subscribers, GoldenEye 007 will be joining as part of January’s gaming line-up. Other games released for the service this month include Persona 3 PortableMonster Hunter Rise, and even Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition to finish the month on Jan. 31. Unlike Nintendo Switch Online, third-party games do end up leaving Xbox Game Pass, like We Happy Few did this month. Fortunately though, GoldenEye 007 was developed by Rare, now an Xbox Game Studio, so it’s probably here to say.
