Grand Theft Auto VI’s New Trailer Makes The Wait Even Harder

Just days after announcing a delay to Grand Theft Auto VI from later this year to May 2026, Rockstar Games have now released the second full trailer for one of the most anticipated games of all time – and it looks phenomenal. With glimpses of the sprawling Leonida, from the beaches of Vice City to the wilderness of Mount Kalaga National Park, it seems like Rockstar have cooked up something special with Grand Theft Auto VI, we just wish we didn’t have to wait so long.

Perhaps one of the highlights of the latest trailer, which you can watch for yourself below, is the dynamic of the relationship between protagonists Jason and Lucia. A romantically-involved couple is quite a different approach to take for the lead characters in a Rockstar game, and we’re sure that has the potential for lots more drama than just the standard bank-robbing, car-exploding business. Another standout is of course the graphics, which look simply phenomenal. Rockstar specify that the trailer was recorded on a PS5 console, so this isn’t the highest-end PC we’re looking at, it’s an average console.

The use of a PS5 console could suggest PlayStation has a marketing deal with Grand Theft Auto VI, but we’re probably a while away from finding out if this is true or just the platform Rockstar chose to showcase. Regardless of where you play it, Rockstar Games clearly have something special on their hands with Grand Theft Auto VI. Now we just have to find a way to pass the time until May 26 next year… I guess we could always just replay GTA V again?
