Hellraid Develepor Diary showcases melee combat.

A new trailer for Hellraid an upcoming first person hack and slash developed by Techland famous for Dead Island has been released. This showcases the melee combat in the game and gives a behind the scene look at the detail in which it is being developed to give the player the most realistic experience possible. Through indepth motion capture and advice from sword fighting experts this gives a taster of what gamers should expect from Hellraid’s combat when it gets released.

Hellraid is a huge hack and slash adventure with a dark and horrific setting that can be played alone or with up to three friends and offers huge replayability through randomly generated challenges, loot and enemy spawn points. The general feeling is a first person Diablo with the realistic medieval combat of a title like Chivalry or Mount and Blade. This seems like a good direction for Techland to go in as Dead Island made a great hack and slash game but fell apart when story and tone got in the way of that, so focusing purely on the hack and slash co-op experience and making it as addictive and fun as possible could be a route to a hugely successful title.

Hellraid is expected for release some time in 2014 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows.
