During PlayStation’s State of Play event, it was revealed that PlayStation players will receive some exclusive content from the anticipated title, Hogwarts Legacy. And it’s not for the faint of heart.
Hogwarts Legacy has so far shown itself to be a fun, light-hearted trip to Hogwarts, but the trailer for a PlayStation-exclusive quest shows quite the opposite. The quest features your character being interested in buying a shop in Hogsmeade from Madam Mason, because students apparently can do that. However, there is a catch as you have to uncover what lies beneath the haunted shop. I think I’d prefer to just go to Honeydukes because Hogwarts Legacy quickly becomes Resident Evil: Village as the creepy basement is filled with mannequins that chase you, spiders, and presumably other spooky surprises.
The trailer also reveals that the quest comes with an additional dungeon, the shopkeeper’s cosmetic set, and of course, the Hogsmeade shop. A separate PlayStation blog post details that the quest is “built into the core game,” so no extra downloads, and that it “can be discovered by any witch or wizard playing on PlayStation.”
The blog post goes into a bit more about the purpose of the shop in the broader sense of Hogwarts Legacy, explaining that “you can sell items and gear at better rates than anywhere else.” Plus, pre-ordering either the PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 versions will grant players access to the Felix Felicis recipe, which is of course known as liquid luck. Once you’ve learnt how to brew the potion through Potions classes and studying, Felix Felicis serves a purpose in-game as it “reveals gear chests on the mini-map for one in-game day” which could be very beneficial to a student exploring Hogwarts or the surrounding map!
Hogwarts Legacy is due to be released on February 10, 2023, for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
