Infinity Ward has confirmed Call of Duty Infinite Warfare will not be heading to last generation systems

The big question that circulated the announcement of Call of Duty Infinite Warfare was if the game would be headed to last generation systems the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Well, Infinity Ward has put these questions to rest officially providing us a definitive answer no.

This news should come as no surprise, as many know the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the previous entry Black Ops 3 lacked a major part of the game, the single player campaign was completely absent in these versions. This of course seemed like perfect reason to believe that the Activision and their Call of Duty partners were trying to phase out the support for last generation. This however will mean something for the fans of the franchise, if you still play the new games on either of these systems it is time to save up and look into a current generation Playstation 4 or Xbox One.

Infinity Ward revealed the news via Twitter when a fan asked if the game would be headed to Playstation 3 to which the company answered with a short and concise:

No, it will not.

While the question was directly related to the Playstation 3 we assume that this will apply to the Xbox 360 also.

Is this the industry putting the last generation to an official rest, well it would not be surprising the Xbox 360 has been discontinued, and I am sure the Playstation 3 is not far off now.
