Konami officially confirms Silent Hill has been cancelled

Yesterday it came to light that Silent Hills one of Konami’s most anticipated new games most likely cancelled as Guillermo del Toro who was a major player in the game said the game had been cancelled. Of course while many of us imagined this to be the case we also held out hope that he could be mistaken as Konami had been yet to say anything but as it turns out it’s official, Konami has officially cancelled the upcoming Silent Hills. The new Silent Hills was announced at Gamescom last year as a project between Hideo Kojima, Guillermo del Toro and of course Konami, however recent problems regarding Kojima and Konami have left Silent Hills in the worst state of horror, cancelled. The game was highly anticipated but sadly has now become nothing more then a piece of faded potential, such a sad moment for Silent Hills.

Konami issued a statement about the game officially announcing that the game had been cancelled, they had this to say as they confirmed the gaming public’s greatest fear:

“Konami is committed to new Silent Hill titles, however the embryonic ‘Silent Hills’ project developed with Guillermo del Toro and featuring the likeness of Norman Reedus will not be continued.

“In terms of Kojima and Del Toro being involved, discussions on future Silent Hill projects are currently underway, and please stay tuned for further announcements.”

Sad news but hopefully this games potential might be revived in a future Silent Hills game.
