A new trailer for Madden NFL 21 has been released. The title is due to come out August 28, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, via Origin and Steam.
Beyond this current generation of consoles, Madden NFL 21 will be further released for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. In the winter a version will also debut for the Google Stadia.
For a visual taster of what to expect, watch the trailer below.
The trailer was originally set to debut on June 1 but was delayed out of respect to George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter protests that followed his tragic killing.
Madden NFL 21 will be available as a Deluxe, and MVP Edition. The latter features box art and a black and white photo of Jackson, the current NFL MVP. For those who pre-order either of these two editions can begin playing three days earlier on August 25. The Deluxe Edition is priced at $79.99, while the MVP Edition will set players back $99.99.
EA Tiburon intends to improve on ball-carrier mechanics, the responsiveness of pass rush positions, as well as defensive line mechanics. The studio will also focus on making open-field tackling more realistic. The improvements, however, further extend to how the game looks.
EA announced that some of the most notable changes would “arrive in the overall authenticity and presentation with new on field camera shots and improved player awareness of their positioning and surroundings on the field.”
The Face of the Franchise story mode is also set to return, debuting in last year’s Madden NFL 20. Face of the Franchise: Rise to Fame begins at high school level, allowing players to create a quarterback, and opt to upgrade the player to a running back or wide receiver in college, in pursuit of the NFL.
Earlier in May, following the announcement that Madden NFL 21 would become available for next-gen consoles, Xbox Series X gameplay footage debuted during an episode of Inside Xbox, as seen below.
