Marvel Rivals has quickly become a fan-favorite in the hero shooter genre, in part thanks to its many iconic cosmetic options based on the vast Marvel Comics history and Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Their customization options are set to expand even further in tomorrow’s April 17 update, as Marvel Rivals has announced the introduction of Costume Customization. The new system will allow players to change the color scheme on some of their favorite cosmetics, giving them a fresh coat of paint.
The new color combos will need to be purchased from the Marvel Rivals in-game store, and we aren’t exactly sure how much they’ll cost yet. There’s also some uncertainty as to how readily available they will be for each skin. It’s speculated they may be limited to select skins for select heroes, but with the official announcement post using the phrase “your outfit, your rules”, the option to customize your colors on your costumes could perhaps be a widely available option for players.
Along with the new color customization options, tomorrow’s Marvel Rivals update will also add two new store bundles: Doctor Strange from Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and a new Peni Parker Yatsukahagi bundle, to match the Japanese-themed Spider-Man skin that opens the current Hellfire Gala season’s battle pass. There will also be some minor bug fixes to both gameplay and hero controls, which you can read the specifics of in the Marvel Rivals latest patch notes update.
