More Persona Games on the way, Including Persona 5!

Today, ATLUS’ PR Manager John Hardin posted some amazing news on the Playstation Blog. Persona 5, the fifth installment in the Shin Megami Tensei: Persona series, is confirmed for a 2015 release on the PS3. Details regarding the game’s story were scarce, but John was able to share that it will be about “throwing off the chains of oppression to find one’s true self”. What that means is anyone’s guess, and the trailer is equally cryptic.

But that’s not all! Also coming to the PS3, this time in the fall of 2014, is the sequel to Persona 4 Arena, which is going to be called Persona 4 Arena Ultimax. Hardin states that the reason it’s not simply being alled Arena 2 or something along those lines is that doing so would fail to do justice to all the new content. Ultimax will feature a new story mode that continues the plot of the original, new fighting modes, and the inclusion of Persona 3 characters Yukari Takeba and Junpei Iori, along with a new character, Sho Minazuki.

Continuing Persona’s forays into genre bending the franchise is the upcoming dance-centric title Persona 4: Dancing All Night! This rythm-action game will feature 30 new tracks and remixes from the Persona universe, as the cast from Persona 4 investigates the mysterious disappearance of members of a pop group. This will take players to the Midnight Stage, a mysterious realm where fighting and dancing are one and the same. This groovy game is set to release on PS Vita in 2015.

Last, but certainly not least, ATLUS has stated that the 3DS RPG Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth will be making its way to the West as well, ater being previously announced for a Japanese release. Persona Q: Labyrinth will feature characters from multiple Persona games as the heroes cross through time and space to assemble a team and take on the Labyrinth! This one’s also coming in the fallof 2014, so get ready!
