There isn’t long left to go now until the full release of MultiVersus, a Smash Bros.-like platform-fighter from Warner Bros. Games. Despite the game launching in another week on May 28, the full launch trailer for the game has been shared, and it comes with some surprising new character reveals – as well as some exciting character interactions for fans of the properties.
Amongst the action-packed antics of the Joker causing trouble across the multiverse of Warner Bros. properties, the trailer ends with the reveal of Jason Voorhees of the Friday the 13th franchise and Agent Smith of The Matrix series joining the playable roster of the game. Their inclusion brings the MultiVersus roster up to a whopping 26 characters on release of the free-to-play game, with more to come down the line with additional seasons.
The first season will be titled Puns & Villainy, a fitting title for the opening season of the game which introduces Batman’s iconic clown villain, and two other iconic Warner Bros. baddies. It’s unclear as of yet how long the first season will run, but it begins on May 28 with the MultiVersus launch on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and the Epic Games Store. Thankfully, cross-progression is supported at launch, so characters you unlock will be available everywhere!
